Detroit City FC will host its 2017 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) National Semifinal at Keyworth Stadium this Saturday, August 5.
The Boys in Rouge will take on Midland-Odessa FC at 7:30 PM in the national semifinal match.
The winner of Saturday’s semifinal will advance to the 2017 NPSL National Championship powered by Mitre on Saturday, August 12.
DCFC was crowned the NPSL Midwest Region Champion on Saturday, July 29 with a 3-2 victory over AFC Ann Arbor. Tyrone Mondi, the 2017 DCFC Black Arrow MVP, scored the winning goal in stoppage time to secure City’s first-ever region championship.
City has hosted all of its 2017 playoff matches thus far, picking up wins against Dakota Fusion FC (5-1) on July 22 and Duluth FC (5-2) on July 28 before clinching the Midwest Region title. Le Rouge has averaged 6,690 supporters at Keyworth through its first three playoff matches.
Midland-Odessa FC, based in Midland, Texas, plays in the NPSL Lonestar Conference. It beat Inter Nashville FC 1-0 in the NPSL South Region Final on July 29 to advance to the national semifinal.
Due to DCFC’s higher seeding, which is based on points per game, Le Rouge (the #2 seed) will host the semifinal match. #1 Elm City Express hosts #4 CD Aguiluchos USA in the other national semifinal. That match will kick off at 7 PM in New Haven, Connecticut.
