Devon Amoo-Mensah joined Le Rouge from the Michigan Stars ahead of the 2022 season and was a crucial part of a backline that was the heart of a seven-match unbeaten streak which helped build a foundation for Detroit City FC to make the USL Championship Playoffs in their first season in the league. Amoo-Mensah was sidelined with a torn ACL right before the end of the first half in Le Rouge’s 1-0 win on the road to Indy Eleven on July 9, 2022. Prior to becoming injured Amoo-Mensah started in 19 league matches. The Naperville, Illinois, native spent the 2020-21 seasons with the Stars in NISA, making 35 appearances – all starts. He notched two goals from his defender position this past fall, earning first-team all-league honors. Amoo-Mensah played his youth career in the Chicago Fire system, as well as Sockers FC. He was a two-time All-GLVC selection at Lewis University before spending 2019 with Swedish division 2 club Älmeboda/Linneryd via Chicago-based Bridges FC and Sockers FC.
