Le Rouge looks for its first win since May 21 as it heads to Las Vegas to match up with the Lights.

DETROIT, Michigan – For the second week in a row Detroit City FC is on the road, this time stopping in Las Vegas to play the Lights at Cashman Field at 10:30pm ET, with the game streaming on ESPN+.
This past Saturday, DCFC suffered a 2-0 loss at AutoZone Park against the East’s top side, Memphis 901 FC. Memphis scored the first goal off a set piece in the 38th minute, with a header from defender Graham Smith. They held a 1-0 lead over Detroit until the 89th minute, when forward Phillip Goodrum hit the back of the net for 901’s second goal of the game, solidifying three points. This was City’s third away loss this season and fourth overall.
Detroit City FC sits at 7-5-4, good for fourth place in the USL Championship Eastern Conference, nine points off Memphis. The top three teams in the Eastern Conference have only lost three times each. City is coming off its first winless month since May of 2017.
Forward Antoine Hoppenot will be looking to get on the score sheet this weekend. His last goal came against Atlanta United 2 on May 21. He currently has five goals this season, tying him with forward Pato Botello Faz for the team lead in league play. Hoppenot also leads the team with four assists and 34 chances created, where he is ranked fifth overall on the league leader board for the stat.
Right back Rhys Williams is tied for second on the team with three assists this season, alongside left back Deklan Wynne. Williams and midfielder Maxi Rodriguez are tied for second on the team with 18 chances created. Williams has 2.5 successful tackles per 90 minutes, which is best on the team.
The Las Vegas Lights FC currently sit in the middle of the standings for the Western Conference, alone in seventh place. With 17 games played, the Lights current record is 7-4-6 with a goal difference of 0, having conceded and scored 23 goals. The Lights have committed the least number of fouls in the league with 172 and are tied for 20th place with 36 yellow cards. Las Vegas is currently on a three-game winning streak with wins over Orange County SC (3-0), San Diego Loyal (2-1) and Phoenix Rising SC (3-2).
Forward Daniel Trejo is on the leaderboard in multiple categories in the USL Championship League. He is currently tied for third in the league with nine goals, tied for ninth in the league with four assists and tied for 13th with 29 shots on the season. Trejo has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week five times this season as well as named Player of the Week twice.
Detroit City will be home next Wednesday, July 6th, taking on Hartford Athletic at Keyworth Stadium. This will be the second meeting of the two teams this season, with Le Rouge taking a 2-1 win away in Hartford in the first meeting.
