Detroit City FC is proud to announce Flagstar Bank will return in 2016 as the Official Bank of Detroit City Football Club and sponsor of the club’s Neighborhood Champion Program. The program is a partnership of Flagstar Bank, Detroit City FC and the Community Development Advocates of Detroit (CDAD), an association of neighborhoods in the city.
Established in 2015, the Neighborhood Champion Program promotes the sport of soccer in Detroit by bringing residents from across the city to DCFC games. Flagstar provides free transportation, free tickets, and a free T-shirt for participants. Flagstar will again work with CDAD to bring 60 Detroiters to each City game held at the team’s new home field at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck, Mich.
“We love everything about this sponsorship,” head of Community Affairs at Flagstar Bank, Beth Correa, said. “It’s about community, and neighborhoods, and how the passion for a sport can contribute to the vitality of a region. It’s a great fit for a community bank like Flagstar. We’re pleased to be part of a sponsorship that brings so much positive attention to our area.”
“The Neighborhood Champion program is a great illustration of the spirit of community,” DCFC general manager Donovan Powell said. “Continuing to partner with a Michigan born and based company like Flagstar Bank is a great fit for Detroit City FC and further realizes our commitment to community building.”
