Detroit City FC is set to visit Lawrence Technological University this Sunday, April 30 for a tune-up match at 1 PM ET.
The LTU athletic department recently announced a portion of ticket proceeds from the match will benefit a member of the Lawrence Tech family, Sean English.
English, a 17-year-old student at University of Detroit Jesuit, was severely injured when he stopped on the highway to help motorists involved in a crash. English and a Henry Ford Hospital doctor were both hit by a car while tending to the crash. The doctor, Dr. Cynthia Ray, passed away from her injuries and English was severely injured. Learn more about Sean’s story here.
Detroit City FC’s thoughts are with the affected families, and we are proud to join LTU in supporting the English family.
Admission is $5. Tickets can be purchased at the gate on matchday and online here. Admission is free for children aged five and under.
The game will be played at LTU Athletic Field in Southfield, Mich., at the corner of 10 mile road and M-10. LTU will provide supporters with a free shuttle to and from the pitch on matchday. The shuttle starts at 11:30 a.m. and goes until 4:30 p.m., and it will pick up supporters in parking lots H and G. Parking information and maps can be found here.
City defeated Saginaw Valley State University, 3-1, in its first preseason match on April 15. Cyrus Saydee, Jeff Adkins and Tommy Catalano were the scorers for Le Rouge.
