DETROIT, Michigan – Detroit City Football Club announced a partnership with the Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance, a business coalition across Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties, formed to address systemic and structural inequities that black businesses face.
“Detroit is one of America’s great Black cities,” said Sean Mann, Detroit City FC CEO. “We’re very excited as an organization to partner with the Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance. It is vital to this community and the future of our city that we support Black entrepreneurs.”
The partnership will see Detroit City FC collaborate on programming and initiatives to advance the Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance’s goals to help black businesses access capital, back-office support, and public policy advocacy. Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance members will also receive access to outings at Detroit City FC matches and participate in special events.
Detroit City FC will include the Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance’s black business directory, the Hastings Street Index, on https://www.detcityfc.com. The Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance will soon launch a business resource center with meeting and workspace, printers, and more for its members.
“We are enthusiastic about the beginning of a long term relationship between DCFC and the MDBBA,” said Charity Dean, CEO of the Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance. “This relationship is the tangible result of a deep commitment from DCFC to economic equity in the region and we look forward to serving Black businesses together.”
