DETROIT – Today Detroit City Football Club has announced that midfielder Dominic Gasso has been loaned to Huntsville City FC of MLS Next Pro. Gasso joins the Next Pro side on loan until the end of the season.
Dominic Gasso competed for Le Rouge at the 2022 USL Academy Cup in Tampa, Florida before signing with the club on an Academy Contract, eventually making his debut in the USL Championship toward the end of the 2022 season, on the road to Charleston Battery.
In 2023, Gasso returned originally on an Academy Contract but earned his first-ever full-time professional contract, the longest in club history at four and a half years.
Gasso played hero in the club’s 2023 playoff match on the road to the #1 seeded Pittsburgh Riverhounds, scoring the match-winning goal to give Detroit City FC its first playoff win since joining the USL Championship.
In total, Gasso has made 24 appearances for Detroit City FC since 2022, most recently appearing in the club’s International Friendly against Pumas UNAM on June 22, 2024.
