DETROIT – Today, the USL Championship announced that two players from Detroit City Football Club have been named to the league’s end-of-season All-League Teams, with midfielder Maxi Rodriguez being named to the All-League First Team while defender Devon Amoo-Mensah was named to the All-League Second Team. This is the first time any Detroit City FC players have been included in USL All-League Teams.
Midfielder Maxi Rodriguez has been named to the All-League First Team following an incredible 2024 season. He ended the year as Detroit City FC’s joint-top scorer with ten goals. Rodriguez also registered a team-leading five assists. He also took home the club’s 2024 Black Arrow MVP Award. Since Le Rouge joined the USL Championship prior to the 2022 season, Rodriguez has led all Detroit City FC players with 34 goal contributions, breaking down to 23 goals and 11 assists.
Defender Devon Amoo-Mensah continued to be a key part of the Detroit City FC backline in 2024, earning him a spot in the USL’s All-League Second Team. A backline that only conceded 32 goals in 34 matches, the second-best record in the league. Amoo-Mensah led Le Rouge in matches played (35), starts (34), minutes played (3,113), and aerial duels won (108). Amoo-Mensah also ranked near the top in key defensive statistics, placing second in clearances (151), blocks (15), and duels won (177). He also placed third in interceptions (36). It was recently announced that Amoo-Mensah has signed a two-year contract extension with Le Rouge, keeping him at the club through the 2026 season.
