Join Detroit City FC at Detroit City Fieldhouse on Saturday, April 27 for an all-day soccer tournament, featuring food, drinks and 3v3 soccer. Admission is FREE to spectators. 

The inaugural Coupe Le Rouge co-ed 3v3 tournament will be comprised of separate tournaments for youth and adult age groups. Players are encouraged to bring one light shirt and one dark shirt. All adult participants will receive one beverage ticket.

Due to scheduling, registration for the tournament is online only. No walk-ups allowed.

For youth age groups, each team must have at least one responsible parent/guardian on site. The youth tournaments will begin in the morning.

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) today announced the dates, times, and locations for the established group of 11 clubs competing in the first-ever NPSL Founders Cup. The East Region will be starting the weekend of August 10, and the West Region following the weekend of August 24. The Founders Cup semifinals will be held at the home of the highest remaining seeds on November 2, with the final to be held at a TBD location on November 9.

The East Region clubs for the Founders Cup will include Chattanooga FC, Detroit City FC, Miami FC, Miami United FC, Milwaukee Torrent, and New York Cosmos.

The West Region clubs for the Founders Cup will include ASC San Diego, Cal FC, Napa Valley 1839 FC, FC Arizona, and Oakland Roots.

The opening weekend of August 10 will feature the New York Cosmos at Chattanooga FC, Miami United FC at Milwaukee Torrent, and Detroit City FC at Miami FC.

The West Region openers on August 24 will be Oakland Roots at ASC San Diego and FC Arizona at Cal FC, with Napa Valley 1839 FC receiving a bye.  

Detroit City FC’s final tune-up before the inaugural Founders Cup will be its annual friendly vs. Windsor TFC on Tuesday, August 6. The friendly match at Keyworth Stadium will kick off at 7:30 PM.

Detroit City FC and the Flint City Bucks today announced a preseason friendly at Kettering University’s Atwood Stadium on Saturday, May 4.

Kickoff for the match in Flint is set for 7 PM ET.

This will be Detroit City FC’s first trip north of Oakland County to play the Bucks. The two teams have previously faced each other in first-round US Open Cup matches in Hamtramck, Pontiac and Rochester, MI, with the most recent meeting resulting in City advancing on penalty kicks in 2018.

The preseason friendly will be DCFC’s final preseason match before its historic 2019 campaign kicks off, which will include a NPSL regular season as well as the inaugural Founders Cup. Le Rouge’s eighth regular season NPSL season begins May 12 on the road against the Michigan Stars, and its first-ever Founders Cup match is set for August 10 at Miami FC.

“We have a lot of respect for the Bucks organization and a place in our hearts for the city of Flint,” DCFC CEO Sean Mann said. “Based on our recent match-ups against the Bucks, we’re looking forward to a competitive match as a final tune-up before our historic 2019 campaign.”

“We are very excited to host Detroit City at Atwood Stadium,” Flint City Bucks President Costa Papista said. “We welcome DCFC and their passionate fanbase to celebrate an early Cinco de Mayo party with us prior to the match. Tickets for the Bucks vs. DCFC preseason friendly match are $15/reserved, $10/GA and $5/youth 12-under. Children 2-under are free.

After opening season tickets to 2019 deposit holders on February 7, fewer than 50 Gold Card season tickets remain. 

Deposit holders were up 20% from 2018. 

Similar to 2018, DCFC will offer tiered season ticket package options for supporters. Season tickets will grant entry to all 2019 NPSL regular season home matches from May-July, as well as all 2019 NPSL Founders Cup matches from August-November, and international friendlies.

DCFC recently announced its 2019 NPSL regular season schedule with its slate of home Founders Cup matches and friendly matches to be rolled out over the coming weeks. With the Founders Cup and exhibition matches, the 2019 season will include at least 16 home matches.

The Gold Card season ticket is a premium ticket option which grants entry to every 2019 home match and event at Keyworth Stadium (including playoff matches and international friendly matches), premium midfield seating, priority entry to the stadium, as well as full-season parking at Veterans Park and a 2019 DCFC scarf.

Detroit City FC is set to host Michigan State University men’s soccer in a preseason friendly at The Corner Ballpark presented by Adient, home of Detroit PAL, on Saturday, April 20 at 5 PM.

Admission for City vs. State is $5. Tickets will be released closer to the match and will not be included in 2019 season ticket packages. 

“Since our very beginning, we’ve always had strong ties to Michigan State’s soccer program and have a huge amount respect for the staff and players,” said DCFC CEO Sean Mann. “Coming off their historic 2018 campaign, we’re looking forward to an entertaining match against the Spartans at a great new Detroit facility.”

Detroit City FC is gearing up for a big 2019 season that will feature a new league, a longer season and new head coach Trevor James at the helm, while Michigan State men’s soccer is coming off one of its most successful seasons to date – a year that saw the Spartans advance to the NCAA College Cup for the first time since 1968.

The preseason friendly is the second preseason match between DCFC and MSU, with their last meeting on April 25, 2015.

Detroit City FC’s schedule for its 2019 National Premier Soccer League regular season is here.

Detroit’s eighth NPSL regular season will begin on the road against the relocated Michigan Stars on Sunday, May 12 before its league home opener on Sunday, May 19 at 5 PM against Kalamazoo FC.

City’s regular season NPSL schedule features seven home matches and seven away matches from May until July. In addition to its seven NPSL regular season home matches, DCFC will host five inaugural NPSL Founders Cup matches and four exhibition matches.

The 2019 Founders Cup schedule and details on City’s exhibition matches will be announced at a later date.

Joining DCFC in the 2019 NPSL Great Lakes Conference is AFC Ann Arbor, FC Columbus, FC Indiana, Grand Rapids FC, Kalamazoo FC, Michigan Stars and expansion side Toledo Villa.

Detroit City FC (DCFC) and Celtic Soccer Club (CSC) today announced a multi-faceted youth affiliation that includes the rebranding of Canton Celtic Soccer Club as Detroit City FC Youth West and Genesee Celtic Soccer Club as Detroit City FC Youth Genesee.

The affiliation will allow Detroit City FC and Celtic Soccer Club to serve a larger geographic area, with the community-focused clubs working to combine resources and networks to provide accessible soccer development and training to more youth across Metro Detroit and beyond.

The partnership creates a structured path to the Detroit City FC first team for CSC’s more than 800 select and premier youth players.

Detroit City FC will provide technical staff and will work with CSC to develop a coaching curriculum for the program. As part of the partnership, CSC members will have unmatched access to exclusive opportunities with DCFC coaches and players, as well as ticket discounts for Detroit City FC matches at Keyworth Stadium.

Canton Celtic Soccer Club will operate as Detroit City FC Youth West and Genesee Celtic Soccer Club will operate as Detroit City FC Youth Genesee starting in June of 2019, with the opportunity for future expansion throughout Celtic Soccer Club’s additional regions. After the current uniform cycle completes, the new youth affiliate players and staff will transition into the familiar Rouge & Gold of DCFC by June of 2021.

The alliance will allow each entity to benefit from the strengths of the other, as operational and administrative duties will reside with DCFC Youth West, and DCFC will tap its professional approach and year-round commitment to the grassroots game to enhance the experience of club players.
